Inside Lacrosse Power Poll--March 22, 2004
Rank Team W L Commentary
Johns Hopkins 5 0 14 first place votes. Held Powell scoreless in smacking of Syracuse. Now it's getting unfair.
Maryland 5 0 1 first place votes. The Terps continue on a collision course with Hopkins. But first: at UNC on Sat.
Princeton 3 1 Big win over Hofstra sets up a No. 3 versus No. 5 showdown as Cuse comes to town on Saturday.
North Carolina 5 1 An overtime win over Duke gives the Heels some major Tourney clout. Want some more? Beat the Terps on Sat.
Syracuse 3 1 What was supposed to be a revenge game, a titanic clash, turned into a laugher L to Hop. Princeton is next for the Orange.
Georgetown 4 1 Just squeaked by Hobart, G-Town remains an enigma. No. 7 Duke should offer a better barometer on Saturday.
Duke 3 2 Two one-goal ACC losses aren't the end of the world. But a loss to G-Town on Sat. might be.
Rutgers 4 1 First loss of the season came to an explosive Army team. The Knights will be judged by how they bounce back against Towson.
Navy 5 1 The Mids four-game winning streak will be put to the test against rival Army on Saturday.
Loyola 2 2 The Hounds were awakened in a big win over ND, making them the only team in the Top 10 not over .500.
Army 4 1 Made a statement in win over Rutgers. Only loss is to Cuse with rival Mids up next.
Cornell 3 1 The Red are on a two-game winning streak. Tuesday's game against UNC has been postponed. Next up: Yale.
Hofstra 2 3 Got smoked by Hopkins, then by Princeton, yet still in the top 15. Thats parity in DI. ND on Wed then struggling UMass on Sun.
Virginia 2 4 Finally back on track with OT win over Towson. Title game rematch with Hopkins in Charlottesville on Sat.
Notre Dame 1 3 The Irish have lost three straight since smacking PSU. It won't be easy to get off the schneid with Hofstra next.
UMBC 2 2 UMBC is back at .500 after losing to Maryland. Delaware awaits on Saturday.
Brown 4 0 A 10-5 win over UMass puts the undefeated Bears into the top 20. Can the stay unbeaten with Loyola next.
Towson 1 3 A heartbreaking OT loss to desperate Virginia wasn't enough to drop Towson out. A loss to Rutgers on Sat. will be.
Denver 3 2 With what some say is a bad loss to PSU, is the shine off Denver. A game against Col Coll on Fri likely won't tell us.
Dartmouth 3 1 Three straight wins and the Green are finally back in the top 20. Beat Quinn. and Fairfield this week and they'll stay.
