| Others receiving
votes (in order): Penn State, Massachusetts,
Pennsylvania, Villanova, Harvard, Hofstra,
Yale, Dartmouth, Air Force, Bucknell |
|
| 2 Johns Hopkins 5 1 9-8 OT loss to UVa
was first setback of the season. We'll see if it
affects the Jays when UNC comes to Homewood on Sat.
|
| 3 Syracuse 4 1 Cuse rebounded from Hop
embarassment with comeback win over Princeton. Hobart
and undefeated Brown this week. |
| 4 Georgetown 5 1 The Hoyas barely beat
Duke, but its still a huge win. Though surging Navy
is a threat on Sat. |
| 5 North Carolina 5 2 One-goal loss to the
Terps didn't hurt UNC's ranking. And a win over
Hopkins on Sat. certainly won't hurt either. |
| 6 Princeton 3
2 Had Cuse by the throat but ended up with an L.
Chance to right the ship in Ivy matchup with Yale.
|
| 7 Navy 5 1
Maybe the hottest team in the country, Navy sawmped
Army to put win streak at five. G-Town on Sat. |
| 8 Duke 4 3 All three losses are by one-goal.
Its been trial by fire for this young team. That
trial continues on at Ohio State. |
| 9 Cornell 4 1 The Red beat Yale handily
and into Penn with a three-game winning streak and
loads of confidence. |
| 10 Brown 5
0 Tied for 10th. Validated their record with a 14-3
smacking of Loyola. Hartford on Tues. then Cuse
on Sat. |
| 11 Virginia 3
4 Tied for 10th. That OT win over Hop means all
the Cavs need is a winning record to make the playoffs.
At UMD on Sat. |
| 12 Army 4 2 Took one on the chin in eight
goal loss to Navy. Can rebound quick against Lafayette
and Marist this week. |
| 13 Towson
1 3 A heartbreaking OT loss to desperate Virginia
wasn't enough to drop Towson out. A loss to Rutgers
on Sat. will be. |
| 14 Rutgers 4 2 All of a sudden Rutgers
is on a two-game skid. Hopefully that doesn't continue
against Fairfield on Thurs. |
| 15 Notre Dame
2 3 Annihilated Hofstra in a midweek game. GWLL
rival Ohio State awaits on Wednesday. |
| 16 Delaware
7 2 The Blue Hens storm into the rankings after
a one-goal win over UMBC. Can stay there with a
win against Hofstra on Sat. |
| 17 Loyola
2 3 Turned heads (in a bad way) with a 14-3 loss
to resurgent Brown. Should be able to get back on
track against Quinnipiac. |
| 18 Denver
4 2 Tied for 18th. Swamped Col Coll on Friday. Should
have a real test when they host Harvard on Sat.
|
| 19 Dartmouth 5
1 The Green made it four straight wins against Fairfield.
Big game at Notre Dame on Saturday. |
| 20 Massachusetts
4 4 UMass is back in the polls after throttling
Hofstra. Big test at Penn State on Sat. where the
Minutemen rarely play well. |
