performance to an impressive win on the road against Princeton
last weekend.
2 Virginia 2 0 John Christmas goal with 22 seconds
to play sparked the Cavaliers to a 16-15 victory over
top-ranked Syracuse in the Carrier Dome Saturday.
3 Syracuse 1 1 The Orange dropped a heartbreaker
to Virginia Saturday in the dome, dropping their record
to 1-1.
4 Princeton 0 1 A furious second half comeback
bid wasn't enough to keep the Tigers from dropping their
season opener to JHU Saturday.
5 Maryland 1 0 The Terps were dynamite in their
season-opening defeat of ACC rival Duke. Fifth-year senior
Brian Hunt sparked the offense with 3 goals and an assist.
6 Georgetown 1 0 After a slow start Saturday, the
Hoyas handily defeated Cornell in their season opener.
7 Massachusetts 2 0 The Minutemen got 10 points
from senior middie Kevin Leveille as they cruised past
Stony Brook at home on Saturday.
8 Duke 2 1 After opening the season 2-0, the Devils
dropped their ACC opener against Maryland Saturday, but
will look for their third win of the season Saturday at
Loyola.
9 Navy 3 0 The Mids toppled Carolina in four overtimes
Friday, improving their record to 3-0. Next up for Navy
is a huge ECAC battler with UMass on Saturday.
10 Loyola 2 0 The Hounds handled Hofstra easily
on Saturday to move to 3-0.
11 North Carolina 1 0 The Heels dropped a four-overtime
heartbreaker at Navy Friday night, but they'll have a
chance to redeem themselves this weekend when Notre Dame
visits Chapel Hill.
12 Cornell 0 1 The Big Red lost their season opener
to Georgetown on Saturday by a score of 13-6.
13 Notre Dame 2 0 The Irish were impressive in a 14-5
win over Penn Saturday, moving to 2-0 on the season.
14 Towson 1 1 After losing their season opener to
Rutgers, the Tigers rebounded Saturday with a 18-6 victory
over Sacred Heart.
15 Penn State 2 0 The Lions cruised to their second
win of the season with a 18-6 win over Fairfield Saturday.
16 Rutgers 3 0 The Scarlet Knights return to the
top 25 after defeating Delaware to improve to 3-0.
17 Hofstra 0 1 The Pride dropped their season opener
at Loyola but will look to even their record Tuesday against
Binghamton.
18 Yale 1 0 The Bulldogs opened their season under
interim head coach Daryl Delia with a win over Drexel.
19 Brown 1 0 The Bears opened their season with
a one-goal win over Vermont. They'll face Fairfield next
weekend.
20 Army 1 1 The Knights defeated Denver on Saturday
