Johns Hopkins:
Hopkins will enter the NCAA Championship as the
#1 seed with an 11-1 record. Defense, goalie play,
and the dominance at X against Maryland make the
difference. (Artful Dodger) #1 v #2 show
down = OT win (only sort of on the road), so no
change in top two, Jays #1, Md #2 (ColumbiaBlueBlack)
ACC regular season champ. (DALaxDad)
ACC champs in a clean sweep!!! (Laximus)
Great total team effort. (StanDPeterson)
#1 - Good win over #2 MD. Another good 60-minute
effort. (timbucthree) Won an ugly game on
Saturday night. Despite allowing the Maryland defense
to control them, they still managed to pull out
a win in a game in which they did not play at their
best. The mark of a champion. It used to be that
if it was a close game, it was as good as lost for
the Jays ... not under the Petro regime. (VTD)
Tough win at Byrd vs. a tough MD team. (WNY Lax)
Remains #1 and barely survives a major test
in a defensive struggle. 4-0 vs. the ACC - the first
time that has been done in lax history. Still some
challenging games ahead, with the exception of Monday's
Canisius game, which will be a tune-up for the role
players. (Wombat)
Princeton: Plays for the Ivy Championship
next week against Cornell and should win. (Artful
Dodger) Time to mop up the Ivy and get in
some quality practice time. (ColumbiaBlueBlack)
#2, but interchangeable with UVa and MD.
(DALaxDad) A much-improved team than the
one that started the season. (Laximus) Cranking
it up. Coasted against Harvard. (StanDPeterson)
#4 - Remain at #4; beat Harvard as they should
have. (timbucthree) I have this feeling that
everyone is forgetting about them as they just keep
getting better. (VTD) Tierney will have them
tough by tourney time. I would not want to draw
them early. (WNY Lax) Remains at #2. Seven-game
winning streak. Biggest remaining regular season
challenge is next week versus Cornell. (Wombat)
Virginia: Should come out of the ACC Tournament
in even better shape than they go in. (Artful Dodger)
Didn't destroy Dukies like the Jays, but
good enough to keep #3. (ColumbiaBlueBlack)
#3, but interchangeable with MD and Princeton. (DALaxDad)
Another media darling that couldn't handle
the Jays. (Laximus) Put away the Dukers.
(StanDPeterson) #3 - Good win over Duke;
no reason to move them up or down. (timbucthree)
Beating Duke at Koskinen is always a whole
lot harder than beating them at Klockner. Still
waiting for the offense to pick up the pace. (VTD)
Top 4 but barely. (WNY Lax) Remains
at #5, one notch behind Maryland. As I have said
all season, I weight head-to-head very highly, and
both Md and UVa have 7-2 records, but Md beat UVa,
thus Md is #4 and UVa is #5 on my list. (Wombat)
Maryland: A defensive battle against JHU
nets the Terps only 5 goals. Taking the #1 team
to OT is a good sign though. The ACC Tourney will
tell much about this team's fortitude. (Artful Dodger)
OT loss to Jays at home does not affect #2
ranking. (ColumbiaBlueBlack) #4, but interchangeable
with UVa and Princeton. (DALaxDad) The media
darling just couldn't handle the Jays. (Laximus)
Will win ACC tournament. (StanDPeterson)
#2 - MD should have beaten JHU. MD controlled
the tempo of the game from start to finish. This
raises some questions on the offensive end. (timbucthree)
The best defense in the country, bar none.
They could very well see Hopkins in the National
Championship game a month from now. (VTD)
The defense can carry them a long way. (WNY Lax)
Remains at #4 on my list; I will not slip
them down based on an overtime loss. This team played
JHU toe to toe. Will they meet again for the 100th
time, this time in the playoffs? Stay tuned. Another
match versus JHU could be another classic. (Wombat)
Georgetown: Only undefeated team in Division
I. Dominated Loyola but may have a harder time against
explosive UMass team. Corno, however, may not let
UMass get the ball. (Artful Dodger) #5 because,
well, that's as high as ya' get without even playing
anyone in the top 10, having a very tough time against
Brown (Go Bears!), and going to OT against Duke
(OK, maybe, just maybe, Duke looked like a team
for just one game). Hoyas will have their chance
to prove they really deserve #5 over 4 of the next
5 games. (ColumbiaBlueBlack) Undefeated but
not enough offense to compete with those ahead of
them. (DALaxDad) Still haven't cracked under
the pressure. Is this the year? (Laximus)
Tough games ahead. (StanDPeterson) #7 - Down
one spot given RU performance this weekend. Undefeated
but unimpressive. Real season starts next week.
(timbucthree) #8 - So they beat Loyola by
11; that's become expected for just about anyone
who plays them. I don't see them beating UMass,
Syracuse, and there is a damn good chance they lose
to Rutgers. (VTD) They need to beat a top
team to gain my full confidence. MD game is looming
very large right now (WNY Lax) Still undefeated
and remaining at #3, riding an eight-game winning
streak. Finally beat someone soundly (Loyola), but
next up is the long awaited match vs. UMass. (Wombat)
Syracuse: Rule #1: Never foul at the end
of a tied game. Rule #2: See rule #1. (Artful Dodger)
Loss to Rutgers moves Rutgers up, but still
not above the Orange, which drops to #6. (ColumbiaBlueBlack)
Beating Hopkins won't help if they lose to
the ECAC; can I have places 7 through 12 as a tie?
(DALaxDad) The Orangemen have a way of playing
below their potential from time to time. (Laximus)
This loss hurts. (StanDPeterson) #6
- Down one spot given Rutgers loss. Defense needs
work. (timbucthree) It used to be Syracuse
could play recklessly and win on talent alone. Those
days ended when last year's senior class graduated.
I'd expect them to drop at least one more (UMass
maybe?) game before the season ends. (VTD)
They really need to beat GT and UMass at this point.
(WNY Lax) Syracuse falls from #6 to #8 on
my list, based on the Rutgers loss (I rank Rutgers
ahead of them because of the head to head win),
and because Syracuse is 7-3 now, and every team
in my top 7 now has two or fewer losses. Three losses
in the Dome in one season. Could there be a fourth
during the quarterfinals? One has to wonder. Last
three games are on the road - Hofstra, UMass, and
Georgetown. (Wombat)
Rutgers: Many smiles in laxland for this
team. Seven players with 18 or more points shows
a balanced and powerful offense. (Artful Dodger)
Beating the Cruisers in the Dome is usually
worth a lot and puts Rutgers in special company
at #7. (ColumbiaBlueBlack) #6 may be pushing
it, but a win in the Dome should be worth a boost
in the polls if only for a week. (DALaxDad)
Stagnitta for Coach of the Year. (Laximus)
Good for them. Great win in the Dome. Congrats,
Stags. (StanDPeterson) #5 - Up six spots.
Exploited SU defensive weakness. (timbucthree)
I could learn to love Rutgers at #5. The absolute
surprise team of the season. They showed excellent
poise and discipline where Syracuse had none. (VTD)
A win in the Dome is huge for this program.
(WNY Lax) The storybook season continues
after hitting a pot hole, and the Scarlet Knights
climb from #10 to #7 on my list after the excellent
victory over Syracuse IN THE DOME. What a year Rutgers
is having, with a 9-2 record. (Wombat)
Massachusetts: Holds the ball in the last
4 minutes to stave off the onrushing Yale squad.
Good tactics, but you like to see a thoroughbred
run to the finish line, otherwise you break his
spirit. (Artful Dodger) What's true of Gtown
is more true of Mass, which has played Navy and
no other teams in the top 15, plus that loss to
Penn State at home shoves the Minutemen below Rutgers
to #8. Minutemen have three serious games remaining.
(ColumbiaBlueBlack) Loss to PSU less of a
blemish that Rutgers' loss to Army; however, to
move up, they have to beat one of the big boys.
(DALaxDad) Can they finish strong? (Laximus)
Balanced offense and a great young defense.
(StanDPeterson) #8 - Up one spot given Towson's
loss to UMBC. Expect them to jump over GT next week.
(timbucthree) Suddenly, that ECAC title isn't
much of a sure thing. (VTD) The opportunity
to establish bona fides is fast approaching. (WNY
Lax) Up a notch to #6 to fill the void left
by the falling Orangemen. 9-1 record, with some
tests, and they can kick themselves for turning
around Penn State's season, but all the marbles
are on next week's match against Georgetown. (Wombat)
UMBC: Even the loss of their top attack man
can't stop this gritty group. Hope for an upset
of Maryland. Good bye ECAC. Hello America East.
(Artful Dodger) Two big wins three days apart
without its best gun jumps the Retrievers to #9.
Besides, I think Zim is a terrific coach who's outgunned
in the marketplace for players. (ColumbiaBlueBlack)
Wins over Towson and NC help. (DALaxDad)
Big win. (StanDPeterson) #9 - Up three
spots with solid wins over Towson and UNC. With
a healthy Andy Gallagher, they would be higher.
(timbucthree) A great win for an up and coming
team. Despite what some may say, Zimmerman is still
one of the best coaches in the game. (VTD)
I commented on Zim earlier this season. Another
vote of confidence. (WNY Lax) A rocket of
a move on my list from #19 to #9, UMBC just pulled
off one of the best weeks of the season (comparable
to UNC's wins over Duke and Md). Their 6-3 record
and head to head puts them in front of UNC and Towson.
(Wombat)
Towson: Good news! Obloj is back. Will go
undefeated in the CAA for the AQ. Seaman can navigate
the rest of the season. (Artful Dodger) Four
losses, three at home, no big wins. Drop from #10
to #12. (ColumbiaBlueBlack) An up-and-down
year earns middle of the pack. (DALaxDad)
Making a push for the playoffs. (StanDPeterson)
#11 - Down three spots with loss to UMBC,
but good conference win over Villanova. (timbucthree)
Coming on strong to end the year. The CAA
regular season title is their's. They just need
make sure there are no letdowns in the tournament.
(VTD) Win some, lose some. (WNY Lax)
As the wind blows every which way, so drifts Towson.
The UMBC loss was a surprise, but Towson is still
4-0 in the CAA with the good Villanova win. So Towson
drops one notch from #11 to #12 on my list. (Wombat)
North Carolina: This is the team that beat
Maryland and Duke convincingly?? It's a good thing
they finish with Stony Brook and Air Force, especially
if they go 0-2 in the ACC tourney. (Artful Dodger)
Beating Maryland is praiseworthy but offset
by loss to UMBC, which was playing on two days rest.
Don't know what to do other than drop 'em from #8
to #10. (ColumbiaBlueBlack) Losses to Navy
and ND. (DALaxDad) Loads of talent not meshing.
(StanDPeterson) #10 - Down four spots with
loss to UMBC. Good but young, inconsistent squad.
(timbucthree) With the ECAC probably getting
4 teams in the tourney, UNC has to win the ACC tournament
to play later into May. (VTD) Wondering if
they took their shot and fell short and are having
trouble getting it back. (WNY Lax) Drops
from #8 to #11 on my list. The UMBC loss was a surprise,
but this year is proving that anything can happen
from the top to the bottom of the top 20. Flanagan
stoned them and probably laid claim to goalie of
the year honors over Spellman in the process. (Wombat)
Cornell: Everything on the line against Princeton
next week. Looks like the Big Red will sit home
this year. (Artful Dodger) Loss to Hofstra
puts Big Red at #15 because they beat #16 PSU. (ColumbiaBlueBlack)
I'm not punishing them for their loss to
Hofstra. (DALaxDad) Looking like last year's
playoff team ... only with more depth. (Laximus)
Tough team. (StanDPeterson) #19 -
Unchanged. 2nd in a generally weak Ivy league. (timbucthree)
They might be the hardest team in the Top
20 to judge accurately. (VTD) Cornell slides
one notch from #9 to #10 on my list due to the Syracuse
loss. Cornell is 4-0 in the Ivy and facing 3-0 Princeton
next week. The winner has the inside track the rest
of the way for the AQ. (Wombat)
Duke: No quality wins. No AQ. They better
make a great ACC showing. Hate to see Cassese go
out this way. (Artful Dodger) For all that
#11 Duke managed to lose, sometimes rather convincingly,
to teams in the top 10, the fact remains that the
Devils have played the top 10. (ColumbiaBlueBlack)
#13 - Five tough losses. (DALaxDad)
How many games will this media darling lose? (Laximus)
So much talent, so few victories. (StanDPeterson)
#12 - Down two spots given play of Rutgers
and UMBC. Need to show something in the ACC tournament
or will not go to the dance. (timbucthree)
They really should rename Koskinen "The Black Hole."
Talent goes in, but nothing ever comes out. It's
probably time for a coaching change. (VTD)
They keep dropping, but UVa was a decent showing
for them. (WNY Lax) Falling from #12 to #14
on my list, Duke is reeling and has lost 4 of the
last 5. They need another miracle two-game sweep
of the ACC tourney, or else they may be sitting
at home in May. (Wombat)
Ohio State: Conference play being what it
is, beating Denver and Butler will not be a sure
thing. (Artful Dodger) #13 (ColumbiaBlueBlack)
#19 - They beat ND but it's not enough to
move them higher. (DALaxDad) Should win GWLL.
(StanDPeterson) #13 - Odds-on favorite to
take the GWLL. (timbucthree) Needs to avoid
the Air Force/Denver weekend trap. Next weekend
is their season; win both and they're dancing in
May. (VTD) Veteran team. (WNY Lax)
A move upward from #15 to #13 this week for the
Buckeyes, as they continue on a five-game winning
streak. Leading the GWLL, they just have to take
it one game at a time down the stretch, without
looking ahead to the possibility of making the NCAA
tourney. (Wombat)
Loyola: The Hounds will not finish over .500.
They will continue to drop in the polls. (Artful
Dodger) #14 - Okay but not at the level of
those ahead of them. (DALaxDad) Tough team
to figure out; last two outings they were dominated.
(StanDPeterson) #20 - Down five spots. Loss
to GT hurts, but not as much as generally lackluster
play this year. (timbucthree) Theme this
year: Not enough horses. Theme next year: Need experience.
Theme year after: A program on the way back. (WNY
Lax) Loyola is also reeling, dropping from
#13 to #15, and they have lost their last three
games badly. And it doesn't get any easier with
Princeton and Johns Hopkins ahead (and Hobart in
between). (Wombat)
Hofstra: Next year they will be even better
and my pick to win the Colonial. (Artful Dodger)
No idea why I put the Dutchmen at #14 other
than wins against Cornell and ND. (ColumbiaBlueBlack)
#15 (DALaxDad) #14 - Up three spots
given recent wins and Army victory over Bucknell
and Rutgers in recent weeks. Makes Hofstra look
better by comparison. Overlooking early loss to
Loyola. (timbucthree) A young team that will
continue to improve. They could still surprise Towson
in the CAA tournament. (VTD) Drops from #14
to #16 despite the close win over Delaware. Right
now, I am keeping Hofstra behind Loyola (who is
on #15 on my list) because Loyola beat Hofstra by
6 earlier in the year. Part of this slip backward
is due to my moving UMBC way up, and the other part
is my moving Ohio State up. The Pride need to beat
Syracuse badly to get a good quality win, with their
only good win being Cornell at the moment. (Wombat)
Notre Dame: Early win against Carolina discounted
because UNC now vastly improved. Big loss to OSU,
unconvincing wins against PSU and Denver drop Irish
(ColumbiaBlueBlack) #16 - based on wins over
PSU and NC. (DALaxDad) Can they finish strong
and get a bid? (StanDPeterson) #15 - Up two
spots with wins over Butler and Air Force and overall
rethinking given recent Rutgers, UMBC, and Army
play. Overlooking early loss to Loyola. (timbucthree)
Notre Dame stays at #17, one notch behind
Hofstra whom they lost to earlier in the season.
(Wombat)
Penn State: They can still get an at-large
bid with wins over Rutgers and Virginia. Remember
last year? (Artful Dodger) Beating Mass is
worth something, just not much. (ColumbiaBlueBlack)
#17 - Maybe they're learning to win the close
ones - UVa should be scared of this team. (DALaxDad)
They're a good team that underachieves every
year. Still an outside chance at the playoffs as
they still have a chance for 3 quality wins before
the season ends. (VTD) Penn State continues
to climb and cracks back into the Top 20, up 3 notches
from #21 to #18. They still need to win 3 of their
last 4 games to qualify for the playoffs, and Rutgers
and Virginia are still on their schedule, so it
isn't going to be easy, but they still have a chance.
(Wombat)
Villanova: Top ranked defense gives up 13
goals. (Artful Dodger) Tough loss. (StanDPeterson)
#18 - Down four spots with loss to Towson.
Solid team but not there yet. (timbucthree)
Continuing to slide back down. Continually losing
close games will not cut it. (VTD)
Navy: 0-4 in the ECAC but undefeated in Iraq.
Go Navy! (Artful Dodger) Too many losses,
even by single goals, becomes way too much to take.
Big downer from #13 to #17. (ColumbiaBlueBlack)
#18 - a tough-luck team without an offense.
(DALaxDad) No offense. (StanDPeterson)
A team that always brings it and somehow can't quite
finish. (WNY Lax) Navy barely stays in my
top 20, dropping from #18 to #20. Another tough
loss, they now have to win all three of their remaining
games to qualify for the playoffs, which means they
have to beat Hopkins next week. Just missing out
this week on my list are: #21 Villanova (up one
notch from #22 based on the tough game they gave
Towson); #22 Yale (up from #23, they beat Albany
and played UMass tough); #23 Dartmouth (down from
#20 after getting pasted by Cornell); Army stays
at #24 (good win over Bucknell, but pasted by Colgate);
and #25 Denver cracks into my top 25 based on their
whipping of Hobart. Also, special mention to the
MAAC, where St. Joseph's (#41 on my list), #42 Providence,
and #43 Mount St. Mary's are battling it out for
positioning for their conference tourney. VMI has
had a pretty good season too, but they have lost
four 1-goal games in a row. (Wombat)
Yale: Valiant effort against UMass. Hopefully
all the trials and tribulations of the year will
give way to victory on and off the field next year.
(Artful Dodger) Stays in top 20 with close
game with UMass. (DALaxDad) Great game at
UMass. (StanDPeterson) A very weak year for
the Ivy League, but Yale has a chance to go 11-3
to close out the season. (VTD)
Bucknell: #17 - Down four spots with loss
to Army. (timbucthree) That loss might have
sealed their season. Very disappointing for a team
as good as they are to have a letdown late like
this. (VTD) The Bison drop three notches
from #16 to #19 on my list due to the loss to Army.
Army could have possibly moved into the top 20 ahead
of Bucknell, if they had not lost badly to Colgate.
(Wombat)
Army: #16 - Wins over Bucknell and Rutgers
pulls Army into my top 20. (timbucthree)
Really came on strong with wins over Bucknell and
Rutgers. Now the favorite to win the Patriot League.

Whittier:
The Poets back into the #1 spot, but only
playing 5 games against your peers will not
keep them there for long assuming other top
teams continue to play games and excel. (D-III)
Is it May yet? (minkhoo) Whittier
#1. I hope this will finally make guys like
WAG, Beachbum, and the other Poet faithful
happy!! But probably not! (moty9) Make
them #1 due to Salisbury loss. Lack of a schedule
beyond a good start is of concern. They do
belong here though. (Richard) Shock
and awe on the offensive end. (The Professional)
No. 1, end of sentence. (valaxfan)
No doubt about it. (waclaxfan)
Salisbury: The talent is there, but
this young team is going to need to stay focused
if they want to win the championship. Letdowns
like the Lynchburg game in the tournament
will mean the end of their season. I assume
they will regroup. (D-III) A shocking
stumble but unlikely to derail the Gulls.
(minkhoo) Obviously too much confidence
and too little respect to Lynchburg resulted
in a sad loss for the Gulls. They are still
#2 though. (moty9) Lynchburg loss should
be a learning experience. (Richard)
Oops! Not unstoppable. (The Professional)
Overlooked a good Lynchburg team. (valaxfan)
Got caught napping but still a solid
#2. (waclaxfan)
Hampden-Sydney: W&L game battle for
the ages. Better not look past giant killer
Hornets. (minkhoo) Overrated!!!! (moty9)
#1 in the ODAC. That tournament will
be up for grabs. (Richard) Great senior
class. (The Professional) Big win against
the Generals. W&L played them tougher than
I thought. (valaxfan) Good conference
win. (waclaxfan)
Middlebury: Huge week for the Panthers:
5 days, 3 big rivals, 3 big wins. They are
getting better and are quitely positioning
themselves for a 4-peat. Attention needs to
be paid to this squad. (D-III) Ownership
of NESCAC seems near permanent. (minkhoo)
I don't care how tough people say the
NESCAC is, if Middlebury was legit this year
they would be handing teams like Tufts and
Bowdoin bigger losses! (moty9) They
have worked their way through some tough conference
games to this point. (Richard) Keep
plugging along. (The Professional)
Winning but not by much. (valaxfan)
Winning some tough conference games this week.
(waclaxfan)
Washington College: Really on a roll,
they are a team not often mentioned as a national
championship contender, but with their stellar
defense and improving offense, the rest of
D-III better watch out. (D-III) Looking
pretty solid right now. (minkhoo) Don't
count them out. They can hang with the Gulls
and Whittier. (moty9) I like their
chances. (valaxfan) Two easy conference
wins this week; big one coming this Saturday
at McDaniel. (waclaxfan)
Cortland: Played great the last two
weeks; should coast through the rest of their
schedule. (D-III) Solid set of wins
against a tough group of E8 conference teams.
Class of the SUNYAC. (minkhoo) Big
win against Ithaca!! (moty9) A couple
of wins vs. two good teams. They seem to be
reaching their stride. (Richard) Winning
close battles. (The Professional) Team
to watch out for! (valaxfan) Overtime
win against Ithaca and nice win over RIT in
one week. (waclaxfan)
Ithaca: This time they were on the
losing end of another close game with Cortland.
(D-III) Tough loss to Dragons. A bunch
of tough E8 games still ahead. (minkhoo)
Tough loss to a good Cortland team but sad
performance against Alfred!! (moty9)
No hex over Cortland this go-round. A couple
more tough games coming up. (Richard)
Up and down. (The Professional) Playing
very good. (valaxfan) Close loss to
Cortland doesn't hurt them too much. (waclaxfan)
Roanoke: Their offense is putting up
huge numbers. I am going to go ahead and call
this team my favorite in the ODAC tournament.
(D-III) Gets to go to Lynchburg to
defend #2 seed in ODAC tourney. (minkhoo)
Beat a couple of weak teams the way
they should. ODAC tourney will be their shot.
(Richard) Scoring in bunches!! D seems
to be coming around. (The Professional)
Could be second best team in ODAC, playing
well. They better, next year will not be pretty.
(valaxfan) Only losses to the #1, #2,
and #3 teams. (waclaxfan) Don't overlook
Lynchburg! (wolverine)
Franklin & Marshall: A "tell all" week
coming up for the Dips. (D-III) This
will be a very testing week with a trip to
Westminster and the Bullets coming to town.
(minkhoo) Most underrated team in the
nation!! (moty9) Not sure they are
as good as people think. (valaxfan)
McDaniel and Gettysburg in the same week.
(waclaxfan) Big week for the Dips:
McDaniel Wednesday, Gettysburg Saturday. (wolverine)
Gettysburg: OT against Haverford? What
is going on? (D-III) OK, a win is a
win, but that wasn't pretty against Haverford.
Better be ready for the Dips in Lancaster.
(minkhoo) Win over Haverford says these
guys have problems that need to be dealt with.
(Richard) What is going on over there?
(The Professional) Winning but unsure
of them. This is a interesting year in lax.
(valaxfan) What is going on here? OT
against Haverford??? (waclaxfan) This
week makes or breaks the Bullets (Dickinson,
F&M, McDaniel). (wolverine)
McDaniel: Yawn. (D-III) Green
Terror now gets a chance to prove they are
as good as their record. (minkhoo)
McDaniel may have only one loss, but their
schedule isn't so hot. Let's see how they
fare against F&M. (moty9) Their hour
is upon them. It's put up or shut up. (Richard)
They are winning but against whom?
(valaxfan) This Centennial logjam will
break open this week. (waclaxfan)
Washington & Lee: Tough loss for the
Generals does not penalize them. But there
is still no offense! (D-III) Very tough
4OT loss on the road. Will likely need to
win ODAC tourney on the road to get back to
NCAA. (minkhoo) Play everybody close,
win or lose. Tourney is their shot also. (Richard)
Still tough. Win face-offs. (The Professional)
Tough loss to HSC, will rebound, watch
them. (valaxfan) Weird season but playing
top teams tough. (waclaxfan)
Lynchburg: Hornets answered my questions
and proved just why they are a top-20 team
with their huge win over the Gulls. (D-III)
Giant killer role nice, but must make
a bigger noise in ODAC. Both HSC and Roanoke
come to Lynchburg this week, so ... (minkhoo)
They beat Salisbury, but I am still
not impressed with them as a team or their
season. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut
now and then. (moty9) Great win vs.
Salisbury. They have been lurking all season.
Is this their breakout? (Richard) Shows
they have something in the tank. Roanoke is
up soon. (The Professional) Great week
in lax for the school from Jerry Falwell's
neighborhood. Great offensive weapons, and
now they have an outstanding goalie. (valaxfan)
Salisbury win puts them here. Let's
see if they can finish with only 3 losses.
(waclaxfan) Great win, but still have
to prove themselves against H-S & Roanoke.
(wolverine)
St. Lawrence: Convincing win against
Skidmore, with two big games coming up this
week. (D-III) A couple of solid wins
heading into two tough Upstate games. (minkhoo)
Hoping that SLU can bounce back from
a big blow to the ego from Hamilton. (moty9)
Look to be back where they were after
a minor blip. (Richard) Lost a game
they should have won. (valaxfan) Still
just one loss. (waclaxfan)
Ohio Wesleyan: Denison loss creates
more questions about the Bishops. (minkhoo)
Does this team have a defense? (Richard)
How do you lose to Denison, who is
NOT good ... ouch! (The Professional)
Big time disappointment. (valaxfan)
They really needed to beat Denison twice this
year. (waclaxfan)
Nazareth: Attention grabbing win against
Hartwick. (D-III) Impressive win against
Hartwick. (minkhoo) Another team hanging
in the shadows. Possibly #1 in the E8. (Richard)
Same as Ithaca. (The Professional)
Big win on Saturday, convincing. (valaxfan)
Hamilton: Continentals now through
the toughest part of their Upstate schedule.
(minkhoo) Showing some excellent potential!!!
(moty9) Are in the drivers seat upstate
w/ some strong wins. Could start to push toward
top ten. (Richard)
Clarkson: Split a couple of close ones.
Few easy games in this conference. (minkhoo)
#3 in the Upstate. That tourney will
also be fun. (Richard)
Rensselaer: A very tough loss to Clarkson
and no rest as Saints come to town on Saturday.
(minkhoo)
Amherst: Tough loss to the Panthers.
(valaxfan)
Wesleyan: Has had some solid success,
deserves to be in the top 20. (moty9)
After Middlebury, the next 6 NESCAC teams
are really close. These guys might be a hair
better. (Richard) Huge NESCAC wins
over Amherst and Bowdoin keeping them in the
hunt for the NESCAC title. (wolverine)
Geneseo: Blue Knights look like #2
team in SUNYAC. (minkhoo) #2 in SUNYAC.
A good team that needs a stronger schedule.
(Richard) Two wins this week. (waclaxfan)
Tufts: Loss to Midd does not hurt them,
but Tufts needs to win against Amherst this
week to prove they are a top team. (D-III)
Eastern Connecticut: Eastern has lost
two games to top 5 teams and one gimme to
Trinity, which is better than some teams that
are ranked ahead of them. I am going to put
them back on the list for lack of anyone else
worthy enough. (moty9)
