West Genny Wildcats New York State Champions...#1 in Country!!!
• The Wildcats defeated the West Islip Lions 12-6 in the New York State final at Hofstra University on Saturday 6/5 to claim their third sraight and thirteenth overall title. The 'Cats jumped out on the Lions early and never looked back as they easily defeated the former #1 national and state ranked team with solid play in all aspects of the game.
• With the STX/ Inside Lacrosse #1 ranking, the 'Cats have joined local Central New York colleges Syracuse University (D1) and LeMoyne (D2) atop final national lacrosse polls. The similarities don't end there as both LeMoyne (Dan Sheehan) and Syracuse University (John Desko) are coached by former West Genesee players. What a testament to the West Genny program and the Upstate New York programs that count over 100 players on the Division 1 level alone
