ROCHESTER Game Notes---in BALTIMORE FOR SUNDAY AFTERNOON GAME

Game Notes: The Rochester Rattlers (1-2) will travel to Maryland to face the Baltimore Bayhawks (2-1) on Sunday, June 13th at Johnny Unitas Stadium. The contest is the second of a two-game road trip for the Rattlers. The game will be broadcast live on News Talk 950 WROC-AM and webcast at SportsJuice.com.
The contest will be the second of three meetings between the two clubs this season. The Bayhawks defeated the Rattlers 24-18 on May 22nd at Seahawks Stadium in Seattle, Washington. Bayhawks attackman Mark Millon led the way with seven points (4+1+2). Rattlers forward Ryan Powell picked up 10 points (7+3) in the contest to set a team single-game record.

Overall, the Bayhawks are 10-1 all-time against the Rattlers, which includes an eight-game winning streak. The last time Rochester defeated Baltimore was on July 29, 2001. The Rattlers won the contest 16-9.

This weekend, Rochester will look to rebound from their 21-19 loss to the Boston Cannons at Nickerson Field last Saturday. Despite the loss, Rattlers attackman Ryan Powell picked up seven points (3+4) and midfielder Kevin Cassese, collected five points (3+1+1). Attackman Josh Coffman led the way in goal scoring with four. Goaltender Jake Coon stopped 14 shots in the goal for Rochester.

Last weekend, Baltimore participated in its second Major League Lacrosse Wild West Tour game last Saturday at INVESCO Field in Denver, Colorado. The Bayhawks picked up a 22-19 win against the New Jersey Pride. Player-Coach Gary Gait (5+1) and Millon (5+1+1) led the team by scoring a combined 13 points on 10 goals and two assists.

Sunday's game will feature the top two scoring teams in the MLL. Baltimore leads the league with 61 goals scored. Rochester is right behind with 58. Baltimore forward Mark Millon also leads the MLL in points with 23 (14+2+7) and goals with 14. In addition, he is the league's all-time points leader with 211 (144+2+65). Rochester's Casey Powell is second all-time in points with 205 (113+3+89).

Looking for Number One: Rochester Head Coach B.J. O’Hara won his first professional game on May 29th. He is now in search of win No. 1 on the road. The Rattlers hit the road for the second time this season as they meet the first-place Bayhawks.

Rattlers acquire Rothfuss and Prout: On June 8th, the Rochester Rattlers acquired midfielder Brent Rothfuss and the rights to attackman Gavin Prout from the Boston Cannons in exchange for Pat Myers and a fourth-round pick in the 2005 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft. Rothfuss has spent the last two seasons with the Cannons. In his career, he has registered 31 goals, three assists and 34 points in 27 games.

Next Game: Rochester returns home on Friday, June 18th for a 7:30 p.m. contest against the New Jersey Pride for Nazareth College Lacrosse Appreciation Night. That evening at Bishop Kearney Field in Irondequoit, the Rattlers will honor the Golden Flyers for reaching the Division III national championship game. Nazareth battled the Salisbury State Sea Gulls for the Division III title on May 30th. Rattler players Jake Coon and Tim Booth are both on the coaching staff for the Golden Flyers.

This season, Nazareth College Head Coach Rob Randall led the Golden Flyers to a 16-3 record and advanced to their first NCAA title game since 1998. Rochester will recognize the team during halftime of the Rattlers-New Jersey Pride 7:30 p.m. game.
