Bridgeport's Dan Denihan Tips: How an
attackman can improve his game

from majorleaguelacrosse.com
I can't remember a time when I was younger that I didn't
have my lacrosse stick in my hand. I mainly focused on
stick protection and keeeping my head up when I was dodging.
One drill that I found that helped was cradling in
front of any thing with a reflection like a house window,
car door, or store window to make sure that no part
of my stick was showing. I would practice changing direction
in the mirror, making sure my stick wasn't exposed.
If the defender can't check the ball from you then that
gives you a great advantage over him.
Keeping your head up while dodging will help you to
see the whole field and feed your middies when they
cut to you. Practice all year round and have a catch
with a friend whenever possible. My brother Conor and
I would play whenever we had the chance.
