The Hamilton-Wenham Youth Lacrosse U13¹s and U11¹s
each won their respective divisions in the 1st Annual
National Youth Lacrosse Tournament at Raymond Fields
in Ipswich, Massachusetts.
The weekend started out with teams arriving from Rhode
Island, New York, New Hampshire, and local teams from
Southeastern and Northeastern Massachusetts.
Hamilton-Wenham Youth Lacrosse was the champion in
both the U-11 and U-13 divisions. Jack Williamson, Colin
Mackenzie, JC Vivian, and Taylor Pirie lead the scoring
for the U11¹s but the win was a result of a total
team effort on offense and defense. The U11 team has
been undefeated since losing the first game of the 2001
season. The U13 scoring was lead by Wit Vivian and Blake
Riley. Though not all teams came out on top, we believe
each and every team and player that participated were
truly ALL WINNERS in this weekend.
While sponsored by Yankee Lacrosse and Brine, all teams,
players, coaches, parents, and fans that made the 1st
Annual National Youth Lacrosse Tournament a success.
A total of 32 teams took the field this weekend. The
weather was typical for a spring New England lacrosse
game; overcast with a chance of rain. Though it did
rain on Saturday, it did not put a damper on the fun
and excitement of the games. The New England Select
Lacrosse League teams from RI, NH, and MA join the festivities
on Sunday
The overall winner in each division was determined
by a bevy of criteria; overall total wins, Head to Head
competition(in case of same overall record tie), Total
Goals Against(# of goals you have allowed), Common Opponents
and the goal differential, and finally, the Overall
goal differential.
